Terms of use

In force from 24 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use MyStory - on the web, in the iPhone and Android apps, and when you add photos to someone’s story as a guest. Please read them. When you create an account, or accept them in the app, you agree to them. Our privacy notice says what we do with personal data.

1. Who we are

MyStory is provided by Inexcel AB, organisation number 556968-8251, VAT number SE556968825101, Sjöbrisvägen 30, 236 35 Höllviken, Sweden (“we”, “us”).

You reach us at [contact email]. We answer in English, Swedish or Danish. This address is also our point of contact for users and for the authorities of the EU member states under the Digital Services Act.

2. Who can use MyStory

  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms with you and must make any purchase.
  • One account is for one person. Give your real name and an email address you can read, and keep your password to yourself. Tell us at once if you think someone else is using your account.
  • You may sign in with Google or Apple; their terms apply to that sign-in.
  • Guests who add photos through a story’s guest link need no account. Section 7 is for them.

3. What MyStory is

MyStory lets you record trips and events as stories of photos, videos, recordings and text; share them with the people you choose, by a link or publicly on your own page; collect photos from guests; play them as a slideshow or a recap film; and turn them into a photo book, a PDF or a printed book.

We keep improving MyStory, so features change. When we remove something that matters to how you use MyStory, or that you pay for, we tell you in advance. A paid feature we take away during the period you paid for is refunded for the rest of that period.

4. Your stories are yours

You own what you put in MyStory - your photos, videos, recordings, texts and routes (“your content”). We do not claim any of it.

To run MyStory, you give us permission to store, copy, process and show your content: to keep it and make backups, make smaller copies of photos and videos, write out recordings as text, name places and look up the weather, lay it out as a book, a PDF, a slideshow or a recap film, show it to the people you share it with, and send a book you order to our print partner. The permission is worldwide and free of charge, and lasts as long as your content is in MyStory. It ends when you delete the content or your account, except for:

  • copies in our backups, which are overwritten within [90] days;
  • what others already have: a book they printed, a PDF they downloaded, a photo they saved;
  • content we must keep by law, or to deal with a report or a dispute.

We do not sell your content, and we do not use it to train AI models.

5. Sharing

A story is private until you share it. You decide who sees it:

  • People you invite read it, or write in it with you (contributors and editors). What they add is theirs; you, as the story’s owner, can remove it from your story.
  • A share link opens the story for anyone who has the link, signed in or not.
  • Public stories are on your My page, for anyone, and can be found by search engines.

You can change this, or turn a link off, at any time. Once someone has seen, saved or printed something, we cannot take it back from them.

6. Other people in your stories

Your stories will often show other people. Only add content you have the right to share:

  • Ask the people who can be recognised in your photos and videos before you share them beyond them - and their parents, for children.
  • Do not add other people’s photos, music or texts unless you may.
  • Think before you make a story public: other people’s faces, names and whereabouts will be public too.

If someone asks you to remove content about them, please do. If they ask us, we may.

7. Guest photos

A story’s owner can turn on a guest link - for a wedding or a party, often on a card on the tables. Anyone with it can add photos and videos to that story without an account.

If you add photos as a guest, you agree to these terms for what you send. You confirm that you may share the photos and what they show, and you give the story’s owner the same permission over them as section 4 gives us, so they can keep them in their story, share them and print them. What you send becomes part of the owner’s story: they decide what happens with it, and may delete it. Your name, if you give one, is shown with your photos.

If you collect guest photos, you are responsible for what you do with them - for example, ask before you publish photos where guests can be recognised.

8. Rules

Do not use MyStory to:

  • add or share anything that is illegal, or that sexualises children in any way;
  • harass, threaten, bully or impersonate anyone, or publish someone’s private information without their consent;
  • add hateful content, or content that encourages violence or self-harm;
  • infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
  • send spam, malware, or links meant to deceive;
  • get around the limits of your plan, reach accounts or data that are not yours, or overload, scrape or attack the service.

9. Reporting content, and what we do

You can report content you believe is illegal or breaks these rules by writing to [contact email]: say where it is (the link), why you think it is illegal or against the rules, and, unless it concerns child sexual abuse material, your name and email. We confirm that we received it.

We do not check content before it is shared, and we do not watch private stories. When we receive a report, or otherwise learn of content that may be illegal or against the rules, we look at it without undue delay and may remove it, make it unavailable, turn a link off, or suspend or close the account - in proportion to what happened. We do not use automated tools to decide this.

When we act on your content or your account, we tell you what we did and why, unless the law forbids it or it would hinder an investigation. If you disagree, reply to that message: a person looks at it again and tells you the result. You may also turn to a court or to an out-of-court dispute settlement body certified under the Digital Services Act. We suspend for a time accounts that often share content that is clearly illegal, and we report content that suggests a threat to someone’s life or safety to the police.

10. AI and other help

Some features use other companies’ services to process your content when you use them - writing out recordings, tidying a text, summing up a day, planning a trip or a book, naming places and drawing maps. They act for us, under data processing agreements; the privacy notice names them.

What AI writes can be wrong. Read it before you publish it - you are responsible for what you share.

11. Plans and payments

  • Free costs nothing. Basic and Plus are paid subscriptions, monthly or yearly. What each plan includes, and its price, are on the pricing page and in the app; prices include VAT.
  • You pay in advance, by the payment methods offered at checkout, through our payment provider. The subscription renews at the end of each period until you cancel it.
  • Cancel at any time in Plan & usage. Your plan stays until the end of the period you paid for, then becomes Free. You do not get money back for the rest of a period, except as section 12 says.
  • If you move to a lower plan, or your plan ends, nothing is deleted: your stories stay as they are, but you cannot add more than the plan allows until you are within its limits.
  • We may change prices. We tell you at least 30 days before a new price applies to you; it applies from your next period, and you may cancel before then.

12. Your right to change your mind (withdrawal)

As a consumer in the EU you may withdraw from a purchase within 14 days:

  • A subscription: within 14 days from the day you bought it. When you buy, you ask us to start at once; if you withdraw, we refund what you paid, less a part for the days you had the plan.
  • A printed book is made for you from your own story. It is personalised, so the right of withdrawal does not apply to it once you have placed the order (Swedish Distance and Off-Premises Contracts Act, chapter 2, section 11, point 3). Check the proof before you order. Your rights when a book is faulty are in section 13.

To withdraw, tell us clearly within the 14 days - write to [contact email], for example:

To Inexcel AB, Sjöbrisvägen 30, 236 35 Höllviken, Sweden, [contact email]: I withdraw from my purchase of [the plan] bought on [date]. Name, the email address of my account, date.

We refund within 14 days of hearing from you, by the same payment method.

13. Printed books

  • You order a printed book from a story’s book: you see the proof, the size and binding, the price and the delivery cost before you pay. The book is printed exactly from the proof: check the photos, the text and the spelling.
  • Books are printed and sent by our print partner, [Prodigi Group Ltd]. Delivery times are shown when you order and are estimates.
  • If a book arrives damaged, misprinted or different from the proof, tell us within a reasonable time - within two months of discovering it is always in time - with a photo of the fault. We will print it again or refund it, at your choice. Your rights under the Swedish Consumer Sales Act (konsumentköplagen) apply: you can complain about faults for three years.
  • We may refuse or cancel an order whose content breaks these terms, and then refund it in full.

14. Keep your own copy

We work to keep your stories safe, but no service is perfect. Keep your original photos and videos, and download a copy of everything now and then: Settings > Account > Download everything.

15. Ending

  • You can stop using MyStory and delete your account at any time in Settings > Account. That deletes your stories and everything in them, as section 4 describes; download them first.
  • We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, after telling you why (section 9). If we close a paid account for no fault of yours, we refund the rest of the period.
  • If we stop providing MyStory, we tell you at least 60 days before, so you can download your stories, and refund any period paid for beyond that day.

16. Responsibility

  • We provide MyStory with reasonable care and skill. Features may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance.
  • We are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably foresee, for losses caused by what you or other users share, or for losses outside our control.
  • Except where the law says otherwise, our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the event, or €50 if you pay nothing.
  • Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that cannot be limited by law - for intent or gross negligence, for death or injury - or your rights as a consumer.

17. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms - for example when MyStory changes or the law does. We tell you at least 30 days before a change that matters to you takes effect, in the app and by email, and ask you to accept it. If you do not want to accept it, you may delete your account before then; a period paid for beyond that day is refunded. Corrections and changes that do not affect you take effect at once.

18. Law and disputes

  • These terms are governed by Swedish law. If you live in another EU country, you keep the protection your country’s consumer laws give you.
  • Please contact us first - most things can be solved that way.
  • If we do not agree, you may turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, ARN), Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm, www.arn.se. We take part in its proceedings. If you live in another EU country, the European Consumer Centre in your country can help (www.konsumenteuropa.se in Sweden).
  • Disputes are otherwise settled by Swedish courts. As a consumer you may also bring them before the courts where you live.
